Fundamentals in Pneumatics course a huge success!

Wearside Pneumatics recently held a P111d Fundamentals in Pneumatics course for the first time, with all of the delegates successfully achieving City & Guilds accredited qualifications.

The three-day workshop is designed as a general introduction; it aims to familiarise candidates with the design, construction and operation of pneumatic components. The course content included the interpretation of circuit diagrams and symbols as well as the construction of controls.

A practical session during the Fundamentals in Pneumatics course staged during October 2017The training also covered the use of compressed air for pneumatic control and as a signalling medium. A complete overview was given following compressors, storage, dyers and distribution in addition to the design, construction and operation range of actuators, valves and ancillary equipment. The relevant ISO symbols were introduced and included in the circuit diagrams. Practical sessions gave candidates the opportunity to put theory into practice.

On successful completion of the course, candidates obtain a transferable qualification which can be counted towards NVQs or other certification.

Candidate feedback was extremely positive, with most delegates observing that the training was relevant to their work and highlighting the practical elements of the workshop as the most enjoyable aspects of the learning. The facilities provided at our offices in the Team Valley Trading Estate were also praised by the students.

Sales Director Dean Horn commented: “As a service-driven company, we have been delighted to provide this training opportunity to a number of our customers. All of the participants commented on the high quality of the teaching and on the pace of the course. We were also pleased to hear that the course was relevant to the day-to-day work of all the candidates and that they enjoyed the mixture of theoretical and practical learning.”

There is clearly a strong demand for this kind of training opportunity among our customers as a course scheduled for February 2018 is already sold out! We are therefore delighted to announce that we will be staging a third Fundamentals in Pneumatics workshop, in conjunction with Festo in April 2018. This course will be staged from 24-26 April at our Gateshead base and places are strictly limited.
