November 2nd 2022. Atlas Copco UK Holdings Ltd has acquired Wearside Pneumatics Ltd. Wearside Pneumatics has been a premier distributor of Atlas Copco industrial air compressors and blowers, accessories, parts and services for many years, and will continue to offer the same products and services now as part of Atlas Copco Compressors UK’s business operations. We will continue to operate as a stand-alone company within Atlas Copco under our existing brand name for the foreseeable future.
Wearside Pneumatics enjoys the trust of hundreds of customers and we firmly believe that the acquisition brings many positive things for all of us. For example, it will give us the opportunity to better serve our customers in the North-East of England with a broader range of products and aftermarket services, backed up by the marketing, training and technical support of a larger organisation.
The acquisition will not influence our customers’ daily business and you can continue to deal with many of the same people as you do today, using the same contact details. The owners, Phil & Julie Hood, who between them have an 85-year relationship with Atlas Copco will be retiring, but director Dean Horn will be staying on with Wearside Pneumatics. Heather Gallagher, a member of Atlas Copco Compressors’ management team, with many years of experience in human resources and service operations, will lead the integration.
