Wearside Pneumatics used iiTrak Energy Monitoring equipment to help a leading provider of laundry and textile services to significantly reduce their carbon footprint by making an investment which will have paid for itself in around 14 months.
By analysing how the customer used their compressed air, our Technical Sales Engineer was able to identify that by replacing the Atlas Copco GA15VSD variable speed and Altas Copco GA15 fixed speed air compressor that were on-site with a new Atlas Copco GA30VSD+ variable speed air compressor, our client could reduce the energy consumption related to compressed air by 47%.
By upgrading their existing equipment to a new more energy-efficient solution, the customer was able to benefit from enhancements to Atlas Copco’s market-leading technology.
By replacing the existing compressed air equipment, the customer achieved the following:
- A reduction in annual energy consumption by compressors of 102 MWh – consumption was reduced from 218 MWh to 116 MWh.
- This equates to an annual CO2 reduction of 53,553kg.
- This in turn achieved an annual cost saving of £10,162.00.
Return on Investment
The total project cost was £15,131.00 + VAT. When the annual energy cost savings and the value of an Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) claim are taken into account the customer will recoup the expenditure in just over a year. Therefore, our client will save energy and cash throughout the lifecycle of their new Atlas Copco GA30VSD+ variable speed air compressor.
