A big congratulation is in order for our Office Manager, Jacqueline Timmins, who is celebrating her 30-year workaversary at Wearside Pneumatics.
Jaqueline joined the business in 1991 after she was placed at the company from an apprenticeship programme.
Having never been to a work interview before, she secured a job as a data entree for the firm. Working under the then director, Ken Hill, for 10 years, Jacqueline stated that back then, the company never really dealt with compressed air, but instead focused mainly on pneumatics.
In 2001, Precision Pneumatics directors, Phil Hood and Julie Prescott, acquired Wearside Pneumatics from Ken, and ensured compressed air was added to the company’s main portfolio by becoming the Atlas Copco premier distributor for the North East of England.
As well as this, Wearside Pneumatics moved offices from a small unit in Washington, to a 6,500 sq ft unit in Team Valley, Gateshead, taking with it all staff members. Over time, the company has grown from 7 members of staff to 15.
Jacqueline remained at the company, working her way through different departments such as packing, ordering, working behind the trade counter, to now, as an office manager, where she deals with all aspects of the business.
Discussing why she enjoys working at the company, Jacqueline said: “Every day is different, and there is always a new challenge. It’s great to be a woman working in what is predominantly a man’s industry. I’ve seen this firm succeed and grow over time, and it’s amazing to be a part of that. We have a great team here and a client base that is increasing. I look forward to seeing what this business achieves in the coming years.”
Congratulations again Jacqueline – we are so happy to have you as part of the Wearside team!
